We are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our small and friendly finance team based in Telford. This is a varied and hands-on role, supporting the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function across two linked businesses.

You’ll be responsible for processing a high volume of supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements, ensuring all payments are accurate and on time. Our systems have streamlined the processes – inputting data accurately will ensure all future invoices are correct so attention to detail is essential. The role involves working closely with other internal departments, so strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Accurately process high volumes of supplier invoices for two linked companies.
  • Check and verify information on the system before processing to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with company schedules.
  • Support the Finance Director and accounts team as required.
  • Assist with general finance and administrative duties as required.
About You:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar purchase ledger or Accounts Payable role.
  • Confident working across various IT systems (experience with Zahara and AutoEntry would be an advantage, but training will be provided).
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on checking accuracy before processing.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to time-critical deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
  • Understanding of the wider finance function and how purchase ledger activity supports the business.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (30-minute lunch break)
