Job Description

HR Business Assistant

Our client is looking for two full time HR business assistants for temporary contracts which are around six-eight weeks long, based in an education setting, in Wellington Telford.
As a Business Assistant, you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, managing the main entrance and telephone communications. Your responsibilities will include directing visitors and calls to the appropriate individuals and supporting the organisation by maintaining and updating key spreadsheets.  
 In this role, you will provide practical and realistic HR advice on matters such as performance management, attendance, timekeeping, disciplinary actions, and grievance hearings. This will involve taking minutes and leading hearings, as well as liaising with senior management to keep them informed about the progress of investigations and disciplinary actions.  
You will also be collaborating with the Managing Director to review, update, and implement HR processes across the company, recruiting staff, from advert to the successful applicant starting work, i.e. DBS, ID check, RTW check etc, also advising and supporting home managers and the head teacher on all HR matters, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
In addition, you will be ordering items for different departments, ensuring that these orders are authorised, and financial records are provided to our accounts department, processing changes to roles and internal promotions, including issuing confirmation letters, facilitating the effective management of probationary periods by providing timely reminders and follow-up paperwork for line managers.

Ideal Candidate 
  • Must have practical experience in an HR Advisor role, ideally within a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Safer recruitment and KCSIE experience. 
  • Experience in the care and/or education industry or a similar sector is preferred, particularly in organisations that are required to comply with external regulatory bodies such as OFSTED, LADO, and CQC.

The hours of work would be Monday to Friday
8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm.

Rate of pay £14.00 per hour.
The person would be required to have a Enhanced DBS check.
